HOW TO SWIM IN HOLLYWOOD
DATE: TBC
Warehouse Four
Beverly Hills, 1979. Submerge beneath the surface of L.A and dive into the mind of Daisy, a young housewife of a Hollywood icon, with a dreamy life that isn’t sweet.
This darkly mesmerizing show portrays sexual exploitation as a culture nurtured by beauty standards, gender ideals and poor sex education. A journey to womanhood distorted and damaged by cultural norms.
On the backdrop of the 2017 Hollywood abuse scandals, it begs the question - what aspects of current culture are blurring the perspective of sexual abuse and gender equality?
Written and performed by Alice Sylvester.
Produced by Bathtub Heroine.
